Located among majestic Coastal Redwood trees along the pristine Big Sur River, Big Sur Campground and Cabins offers camping and lodging with the emphasis on Family. Enjoy tent and RV camping on the forest floor as you watch the kids inner tube by in the cool water. Or pamper your family in one of several styles of Cabins, from rustic tent Cabins to fully equipped Cabins with kitchens and fireplaces.
Tent Campsites - Pitch your tent among the redwood trees and enjoy camping in one of the most beautiful settings anywhere. A firepit and picnic table are provided in each site, and you'll find a bath house with hot showers nearby.
RV Sites - Big Sur Campground and Cabins welcomes you and your RV. We can accommodate trailers and motorhomes up to 40 feet in length. In addition to a picnic table and firepit, we provide water and electric hookups at the site, and a central dump station.
Tent Cabins - If you're looking for the feel of camping but don't have your own gear, take a look at our popular tent Cabins. Situated on or near the river, each cabin includes a queen bed with linens and blankets. Simply bring your cooler and camp stove and you're ready to go!
Cabins - The Cabins are also located among the towering redwoods, and provide the opportunity to experience Big Sur without the need to pack a lot of gear and supplies. Check out the various styles ? from cozy one-room units, up to spacious 2 bedroom Cabins with kitchens and fireplaces.
Groceries - there are no supermarkets in Big Sur and Big Sur Campgrounds and Cabins. The closest one is in Carmel, 25 miles north. There is, however, a handful of small general type stores close by. They tend to offer a reasonable selection of basic grocery items, as well as some basic camping supplies.
Fishing - each winter, the Steelhead Trout make their way up the Big Sur River to spawn. Fishing is limited to the west side of Highway One, is catch and release only.
Wildlife - there are no bears in Big Sur, but you will probably see raccoons, squirrels, deer, Stellar Jays and perhaps the occasional fox, bobcat, coyote, or wild turkey.
Hiking - Big Sur offers some if the most spectacular Hiking anywhere. Three amazing Californian state parks are within a short drive along Highway One, and together boast miles of Hiking trails with gorgeous views of the coast, the mountains and the Big Sur valley.
