Arenzano and Cogoleto extend along the coast between Cape Invrea and the cliffs of the Lastroni, where there is a characteristic rock called "Aguggia" which has given the name to the area. The natural boundary between the two territories is Cape San Martino, beyond which there is the small valley of the stream Lerone. The high grounds sheer to the sea, have been exploited as lime quarries at Cogoleto and as copper and stone quarries at Arenzano.

Arenzano is a coastal town in the province of Genoa, Liguria, Italy. It is a reasonably popular holiday resort for Italians. There are a number of festivals during the summer, as with many towns in Italy. It is very close to Genoa (the capital town of the province).
Of note in the town are the communal gardens (which is where the "commune" or town hall are), endowed with rare trees like Lebanon cedars and Araucarias, and the five-centuries-old watch tower, called Saracens' Tower, built to prevent sudden incursions of pirates from Maghreb.
