Llanelian

Llanelian is named after Saint Elian's Well, famous throughout Wales and parts of England in its day for its healing and curing properties. Later the well became popular as a "cursing" well where you can wish illwill onto an enemy.

The White Lion Inn, Llanelian,lies next to the church of St Elian for several centuries. Local records dating back to 722AD make mention of an alehouse next door to the church. The present building is believed to originate from about 1527.
