KOORANA CROCODILE FARM

Located half an hour drive from Rockhampton, Koorana Crocodile Farm is a commercially operated crocodile farm and restaurant. Fully guided tours are operated daily at 10.30 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. with crocodile hatchings being seen from March to May.

The restaurant serves crocodile meat dishes as well as standard meals and crocodile skin products are available including wallets, belts and clothing. Visitors have the opportunity to touch and hold a specially trained crocodile.

CAPRICORN CAVES

ROCKHAMPTON HERITAGE VILLAGE & MARKETS

The Rockhampton Heritage Village is an active township museum where visitors can experience the rich and colourful history of the Rockhampton District. Situated just past the Yeppoon turn-off on the Bruce Highway, the Heritage Village is located on eighteen hectares of native bushland.

The Village is a unique recreation of original buildings, homesteads and businesses from the 100-year period between 1850-1950. The Rockhampton Heritage Village holds markets every two months where you can see a huge variety of stalls selling locally produced arts and crafts, produce, plants and more. MOUNT HAY GEMSTONE TOURIST PARK

Famous for it’s Thundereggs and Fossicking, Aradon Mount Hay offers a huge range of quality pewter and gemstone products, gemstones and gemstone cutting/polishing services to both Australian and International customers.

The Mount Hay tourist park is 30 minutes west of Rockhampton on the Capricorn Highway at Wycarbah and is open 7 days a week, from 8.30am to 4.30pm. Kiosk, BBQ and camping facilities available.

CAUSEWAY LAKE BOAT HIRE

Explore and fish the magnificent tidal estuary system. Offering kayaks, paddle boats, tinnies, catamarans, surf skis, bait, drinks, chips, ice, tackle, crab pots and more! Sit and relax in the picnic facilities overlooking the lake.

A great day out for the family with a safe swimming area for kids and plenty of activities. The Causeway Lake is situated halfway along the Scenic Highway between Yeppoon and Emu Park. Regular bus services available. 

KENROSE PARK GO CARTS – THRILL THERAPY

Set on 4 acres, the new Kenrose Park’s 500 metre go kart track provides family orientated karting fun as well as catering for a range of private, social and competitive karting functions. Central Queensland’s only go kart hire operation is located just 5 mins from Rockhampton – along the Yeppoon Road.

Kenrose Park offers the latest in karting experience with a new fleet of EVO 5 go karts as well as several dual operation go karts direct from Germany. The track features a ROC timing system for the competitive karters, stadium class lighting for night karting and a children’s play area for the younger ones. Refreshments are available and group bookings are recommended.

ROCKHAMPTION BOTANICAL GARDENS & ZOO

Rockhampton Zoo is nestled within the Botanic Gardens and adjacent to the Murray Lagoon in Rockhampton. Visiting the Zoo is the perfect day out. You’ll discover more than 70 species of native animals from across Australia, exotic animals from around the world, tropical rainforests and outback Australia exhibits.

COOBEERIE PARK

A brand new cassowary enclosure, new major mitchell and eclectus parrot enclosure have just finished construction. The animals are enjoying their brand new facilities and are all on display.

Encounters with; koala, crocodile, snake, kangaroo, parrot, skink, and monkeys happen everyday of the year at Cooberrie Park. You can personally interact with cute little monkeys. Coobeerie Park can be found just 28 minutes from Rockhampton and 15 minutes from Yeppoon Beach. BBQ, swimming and paddling pool are available.
