A second version of a best seller launched in the Seychelles islands promoting locally produced food.
Nature Seychelles is an environmental and non-governmental organisation with their head office on the main island of Mahe in the Seychelles. The Seychelles organisation has been actively promoting the production and consumption of locally farmed food through a national campaign called ‘Grow and Eat Your Own Food Campaign’ and they have now published a second book entitled ‘Grow and eat your own food Seychelles’.
The second version of the book 'Grow and eat your own food Seychelles' offers practical advice on community and home gardening accompanied by photographs as well as the local Seychelles cuisine recipes. It is well worth a read and if you enjoy gardening we will recommend you look at purchasing this while on your holiday in the Seychelles. It would also be a great gift to take home especially with all the wonderful Seychelles creole cuisine recipes.
Chalets d' Anse Forbans is actually built on a former coconut plantation and when holiday in Seychelles with us you will see we have built and developed our large tropical garden around the plantation. Not only are we a former plantation but all around us is still a farming community. We have leased land to a local farmer who produce off the land local food items such as pumpkins, cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes etc. If you would like to purchase local produce from this farm please merely ask at the reception and it is subject to what is available at the time.
Chalets d' Anse Forbans is an active community supporter and in turn supports the initiatives to enhance their community.
