Tel Aviv is a thriving vibrant Middle Eastern city.
The towns of Tel Aviv and Jaffa became united in the single municipality of Tel Aviv-Yafo in 1950, two years after the establishment of the State of Israel. Known locally as the Big Orange, Tel Aviv has no holy sites to speak of, and a fairly short history. Yet, the Tel Aviv of today is riding the wave of the country's high-tech economic boom.
The art scene in Tel Aviv is thriving ... visitors can lose themselves in the many galleries around the Gordon Street neighbourhood. The city streets bustle with exclusive restaurants, inventive eateries, sidewalk cafes and a plethora of shopping opportunities. This is a city that does not sleep … when the sun goes down, the streets come alive with oyster bars, nightclubs, and samba sessions at the beach.
