Nestled between a diesel repair shop and a gas station on the Long Beach peninsulaâ??s main highway, the 42nd Street Café is a monument to the traditions of roadhouse inns and the fare they offered travelers in the days of highways and byways. Featuring fresh regional products, Chef Cheri Walker also incorporates flavors and techniques culled from the cuisines of Asia, the Mediterranean, New Orleans and the Southwest.
