Nestled between a diesel repair shop and a gas station on the Long Beach peninsulaâ??s main highway, the 42nd Street Café is a monument to the traditions of roadhouse inns and the fare they offered travelers in the days of highways and byways. Featuring fresh regional products, Chef Cheri Walker also incorporates flavors and techniques culled from the cuisines of Asia, the Mediterranean, New Orleans and the Southwest. Recognized in national and regional publications, Cheri and 42nd Street Café offer guests a warm casual atmosphere and consistently great service.
The dining room seats just forty-eight and is decorated with the art of local artists, like Eric Wiegardt and Noel Thomas as well as a few of Chef Cheriâ??s own watercolors. The wine list places special emphasis on the wines of Oregon and Washington, while the beer list features Northwest micro-brewed beers on tap, premium bottled beers from Belgium and Germany and a collection of vintage-dated bottled beers.
