A charming 1818 colonial, Aaron Burbanks Windfall House, Cape Cod Bed and Breakfast is set in historic Sandwich Village, the oldest town on Cape Cod, United States, incorporated in 1639 and rich in history.
This gracious antique has retained many original features: wide-board pine floors, three fireplaces (one with a beehive oven), and the turned staircase to name a few. Rooms are decorated with many antique and period furniture pieces. Attractive plantings and a private side yard provide a perfect setting. Bedchambers have either full-sized or queen-sized beds. Each bedchamber furnished uniquely with antique and period pieces and decorated with fresh flowers has either a private or shared bath.
The Keeping Room (dining room) at Aaron Burbanks Windfall House, Cape Cod Bed and Breakfast is named after Enos Breed, builder of the house in 1818. Its 8-foot beamed ceiling, working fireplace with beehive oven and original cooking utensils, wainscoting, wide-board pine floors, and 60-pane glass picture window return you to the charm of old colonial New England.
A full breakfast served by candlelight is offered daily from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. featuring fresh baked muffin du jour, fruit juices, seasonal fresh fruit tray, and a full choice of egg dishes. Omelets are served with home fries prepared with herbs from our herb garden and a variety of pancakes is also available. All dishes are garnished with fresh fruit or flowers from our gardens. Herbal teas, brewed decaffeinated coffee and of course our freshly ground special blend of coffee are available. Special dietary needs are happily accommodated.
The Gathering Room (living room) Aaron Burbanks Windfall House, Cape Cod Bed and Breakfast is named after Lucy Bourne Pope Breed, wife of Enos Breed, also features a beamed ceiling, working fireplace, built-in bookcase, wainscoting, wide-board pine floors. The Gathering Room provides a comfortable setting to relax with books, magazines, board games, local newspapers or you may choose to view digital cable television, listen to music or mingle with guests. A Dutch door opening onto a quaint small porch overlooks the beautifully landscaped side yard featuring many attractive plantings and quaint seating areas. A gazebo and a Japanese Koi pond have been added for guest relaxation.
