Abelia House Bed and Breakfast is home-stay accommodation in the heart of the Lovedale region in the Hunter Valley in Australia, owned and run by David and Robyn McGain. Situated on five acres, filled with native trees and gardens, Abelia House Bed and Breakfast is a restful and comfortable home away from home in Hunter Valley.
On arrival you will enjoy a complimentary afternoon tea, served with fine china, outside on one of the verandahs, or if its cold, in the lounge room in front of a roaring open fire. The two bedrooms have ensuites, queen size beds, tea making facilities, a television and fridge and reverse cycle air-conditioners.
Breakfast at Abelia House Bed and Breakfast is prepared by Robyn and served at whatever time suits you (latest 9.30a.m.) During the summer months, it is served on the fully screened back verandah, where you can look out over the pool and garden, to the mountains beyond. Spend time wandering the garden, or take a stroll down to the dam. Find a spot to sit and read, or just enjoy the surroundings.
Next door to Abelia House is the Leaves and Fishes Café and nearby is the well known Mojos restaurant and several of Lovedale?s famous wineries.
Robyn is an avid gardener and keen textile artist. The quilts on the beds show both her passion and skill in working with fabric. She loves the many galleries around the region and is well able to answer questions to help you plan your day trips.
If you feel like being spoilt, ask David to drive you around Lovedale in his 1939 Buick limousine (at an extra cost). He?d be very happy to chauffeur you around for a couple of hours.
Abelia House Bed and Breakfast is Robyn and David?s third Bed and Breakfast and through plenty of practice, and a few mistakes, they?ve created a wonderful place to stay in Hunter Valley.
