Welcome to Air Safaris, Lake Tekapo, New Zealand. The names Air Safaris and the Grand Traverse of Mount Cook and Glaciers are well known and respected in New Zealand tourism.
We at Air Safaris have been flying aircraft in and around the Mount Cook and Westland National Parks since 1970. Over that period, Air Safaris has grown from a single aircraft operation and now flies ten aircraft. It is currently one of New Zealand's largest scenic flight airlines. One of the pioneering families still own and operate the company.
Air Safaris has built up a fleet of modern aircraft, which are designed especially for flightseeing.
Our pilots are very experienced in this alpine territory and give a full in flight commentary on the country side they know so well.
With company airports at both Lake Tekapo and Franz Josef Glacier, and a base at Glentanner Park (near Mount Cook), as well as a wide range of scenic and charter options, Air Safaris is ideally situated to cater for visitors wishing to experience the breathtaking beauty of the Mount Cook and Westland World Heritage National Parks. Safety has always been Air Safaris, Lake Tekapo number one priority. We have been awarded "The Director of Civil Aviation's Award for Safety".
