When our home was built in the latter part of the reign of Queen Victoria, it stood on the shore of Nelson's Haven, with Weka running up and down the strand.

Now the vibrant and exciting city of Nelson has grown up and outwards around Amber House, but our home remains a peaceful and helpful haven for travellers with all of our city's attractions just a short stroll away.

Our guests can amble to the nearby Miyazu Japanese Jardin or the Queens Gardens or simply sit on our verandah and enjoy the fragrance of our irish roses in the front garden. On Sundays, the Farmers Market is just opposite us in Founders Park.

All Amber House rooms are BIG - large enough for two Queen Beds and our Green Room is very good value for families and those willing to share a bathroom.

Guests compliment us on our "Ulster Fry" cooked breakfasts or you can help yourself from a buffet any time if you`re watching your weight.
