An historic Inn located in the quaint cobblestoned whaling town of Nantucket on an island located off Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
"Feel a part of a country house party in an atmosphere that cannot be matched by larger Inns or hotels..."
Washington Post, The Boston Globe
Anchor Inn is steeped in Nantucket history, begInning with its original owner, Archaelus Hammond, captain of the whaleship Cyrus, and the first man to kill a sperm whale in the Pacific Ocean. The Gilbreths, of Cheaper by the Dozen fame, owned the house in the 1950s and wrote of their experience in Innside Nantucket.
Our charming and historic Inn is located on Centre Street, next to the Old North Church, in the historic residential district. It's "the perfect location," so there's no need for a car. The Inn is a short walk to restaurants, shops, museums, theaters, tennis, the waterfront, and ferries.
