Annie's Garden Cottage offers a restful, private retreat in West Marin while also being within walking distance of the shops and restaurants of downtown Point Reyes Station, California, United States. The Cottage is located on property at the west end of Third Street, only two blocks from Route 1 (or Main Street) in downtown Point Reyes Station, California. The property is adjacent to public land and offers views of Inverness Ridge, to the west.
Annie's Garden Cottage is a two-story "loft" with a spacious open first floor (nearly 400 square feet) and an upstairs of nearly equal size. The first floor includes a comfortable, carpeted living room area, a dining area which easily seats six, and a full kitchen with a gas stove and oven, cooking equipment, and a well-stocked pantry. A trundle bed, available for sleeping one, or two, is also found on the first floor, as is a writing desk. Upstairs, the carpeted loft provides guests with a queen bed, and a bathroom with shower.
Annie?s Cottage is heated by a very efficient wood stove located in the living room area of the first floor, although a small space heater is also provided (to take the chill off). A stereo system, and a healthy supply of cassettes (bring your own cd's) is available, as is a radio, and an array of parlor games, cards, and jigsaw puzzles. A video monitor is located upstairs, to be used with the vcr that is provided. Annie?s Cottage is a television-free zone.
Beyond the wall of windows, the Cottage offers visitors a private deck and fenced garden area, with teak furniture providing a comfortable seating area for reading and relaxing. A full-size Weber gas grill is found on the deck, as well, and grilling supplies are available for your use. The deck is shaded by a large tree, but late afternoon sun is direct, and in season, keeps the evening chill away until the sun sets behind Inverness Ridge.
Beyond the small garden, the rest of the property is also available for your use, should you choose. Two patios are available for relaxing, one in the midst of the rose garden on the hillside below the Cottage, while another offers a spot amongst perennials that is protected from the predominant breeze off Tomales Bay.
