The Aquarium of Ubatuba is a private enterprise, established in January of 1996 by a group of oceanographers. The seas and Oceans more than occupy 70 percent of the surface of the planet and are basic for the existence and propagation of the proper life, including that of the human being. This importance inspired the creation of this project, that it possesss as its main objective the preservation of coastal and marine environments through the ambient education and of the applied research. The Aquarium of Ubatuba offers to its visitors the chance to know up close a little about the complex marine world, having entered its attractive 12 salty water tanks (between them one of the biggest marine tanks of Brazil, with 80.000 liters), with representatives of the local fauna and of other oceans.
