Based in the former convent of the Theatine Fathers, the Archivio di Stato is extremely significant as far as Sicilian history is concerned, as it is rich in Greek, Latin and XI century Arabian parchments.
Archivio di Stato,of Palermo, Italy is a Library that originates from Dispatch of 11 February 1814, which provided for the establishment of a central repository with the task of bringing together the writings of all central and peripheral offices of Sicilia.Dal 1826 we began the concentration of funds in the former convent of the fathers of Teatino, a structure built in the first'600, fifteenth contiguous all'artistica church of Santa Maria della Catena.
The documents stored in the Archivio di Stato of Palermo, Italy are freely available, except those declared to be confidential, described in art. 8. 8. Research and readings for reasons of study are free.
The Library is open to the public, usually every day except bank holidays. The current opening hours are from 08.00 to 18.00. Any changes that the Library makes will be notified well in advance.
