Welcome to Armondos Italian Restaurant, Renton, United States. 1985 - George Armondo Pavone, (known as “Mondo” to family, friends, and staff) leased the former location on the corner of Third and Main in downtown Renton. For ten months, "Mondo", with the help and support of family and close friends, completely refurbished a deteriorated 1120 square foot unit that was formerly a Thai cuisine restaurant.
1986 - The doors opened to the public on May 2 with a staff of five, ten tables and a menu of pizza and spaghetti. 1990 - The growing success and popularity of the corner location created the need for expansion. In November of 1990 construction began on the adjacent building. 1991 - In January, Armondo’s reopens the 2600 square feet unit with a staff of 32 and 25 tables. 1992 - In November, Armondo’s expands again, opening the non-smoking taproom and wine bar.
2005 - Armondos closes its doors at the corner location of Third and Main on November 13. A week later, Armondo and his wife Angela reopen the restaurant at the corner of Wells and Houser Way in downtown Renton. The new, 4200 square feet restaurant seats 165 guests and features comfortable seating, a private dining room for twenty, and hand-blown glass lighting fixtures.
"Our goal at Armondos Italian Restaurant is to provide the best dining experience for our guests, which includes personal service, a great family atmosphere and exceptional menu items that are prepared consistently using only the highest quality ingredients."
