Ashton Guest House is a granite Victorian house, built around 1875 in the conservation area of Penzance in the United Kingdom. The owners, June and Stewart Kent, have recently refurnished and updated the en-suite guest bedrooms to a high standard. Ashton Guest House is only a few minutes walk away from both the promenade and the centre Penzance. With quaint side streets, interesting sub-tropical gardens and parks, Penzance enjoys a mild climate and long hours of sunshine for much of the year.
Amongst many places to visit locally, Newlyn is a comfortable 15/20 minutes walk away, while Lamorna, Mousehole and St Michael's Mount are a short drive or bus ride away. St Ives, St Just, Pendeen, Sennen, Lands End, Cape Cornwall and Madron are all within a ten mile radius of Penzance. Penlee House and Gallery, which has an ongoing exhibition of different artists' work, is just a few minutes away from Ashton Guest House.
Our aim at Ashton Guest House is to provide a comfortable base for you to explore this beautiful part of West Cornwall. Its infinite variety of subject matter, from busy harbours to rocky coastline, big skies, the enchanting light and milder climate, have been a magnet to artists for centuries. There is unrestricted residential parking.
The Studio at Ashton Guest House is available throughout your stay as is the Reading Room with practical instruction books on painting. There is also the opportunity to view DVDs and Videos by well known artists. In order to provide a relaxed and informal atmosphere, we have limited the weekly intake to a maximum of six persons. Ashton Guest House is open throughout the year and operate a no smoking policy in the house which is shared with Purdy our black Labrador and Lenny the new cat.
