Atlas Brewery, Kinlochleven, Scotland, United Kingdom
Atlas Brewery is in the middle of the Scottish Highland village of Kinlochleven,
right on the banks of the River Leven at the head of Loch Leven, with the Glencoe hills and the Morvern peninsula in the distance in Scotland.
Kinlochleven's past is intimately connected with the history of aluminium smelting. The handsome Victorian building that is now the Brewery is one of four buildings that remain from the village's aluminium smelter, which at one time was famous throughout the world.
The smelter closed in the late 1990s, and the Brewery building lay empty... till the winter of 2001/2002 when we took the property on and began the conversion into a Brewery.
At Atlas Brewery, we have four 20-barrel Fermenting Vessels, which allows us to ferment up to 28,000 pints of beer each week.
From Easter to the end of September, we conduct a free Brewery tour every evening except Sundays at 5.30pm. Please give us a call to reserve your place, or just turn up and try your luck!
For larger groups, we are often able to accommodate Brewery Tours at other times of the day, and outside the summer months. CAMRA branch visits are particularly welcome all year round.
Alternatively, why not make an event of it? Where our brewing schedule allows, we are delighted to arrange full-evening Brewery Tours for groups of 5-15 people, including plenty of great food and, of course, plenty of great beer. Give us a call with an idea of timings and budget and we?ll do the rest.
