Welcome to Babbacombe Corinthian Sailing Club, Babbacombe, United Kingdom. The Babbacombe Corinthian Sailing Club was founded on Saturday, 22nd June, 1935, at a meeting held on Oddicombe Beach attended by some twelve gentlemen. The founder officers of the club were President - Mr H Thomas, who held this post until his death in 1950: Commodore - Mr W Terry, affectionately known to all as "The Admiral"; Hon Secretary - Mr S W Francis; Hon Treasurer - Mr G D L White and Captain - Mr F T C Stoneman.

The Club's headquarters were in an old hut on Oddicombe Beach which at one time had been a fisherman's hut and the walls of the hut now form the bottom storey of the present Club House on Oddicombe Beach. This Club house was erected in 1937 and formally opened by the Mayoress of Torquay on 26th June 1937, the year of the Coronation Regatta. Mr Club's very first trophy was the DAPHNE Cup presented by Miss D Barst, and this trophy is now awarded annually to the best boat in the Club. In 1938 the Club formed three classes. Class 1 - 14ft Internationals; Class 2 - Bobtails and Class 3 - Nursery Class and racing was continued in those classes until September 1939. The last race held by the Club prior to the outbreak of war was a race for Sea Scot Whalers on 2nd September 1939.

The Club reformed in February 1947 and adopted the WEC Redwings as its main class. Before the end of that season, 8 Redwings were Sailing regularly with the Club. It was the feeling of the majority of members that some form of Winter Headquarters should be provided to enable Lectures to be given and social contact maintained and in October 1947, the Club opened its Club House and licensed premises at Fore Street, St Marychurch.

The Babbacombe Corinthian Sailing Club is "forward minded" and is indeed proud of the number of its Cadet Members.
