Barcaldine House is a 1707AD early Georgian Laird's House built by the Campbells of Barcaldine and was once the centre of a beautiful and vast Scottish estate. It is historically connected with the Appin Murder (RL Stevenson's Kidnapped), has splendid period furnishings/family memorabilia and a secluded location, 10 miles north of Oban, on the edge of the Barcaldine Forest.
An inimitable launch pad for exploring the West Coast of Scotland with easy access to the mountains of Glencoe, sandy beach at Tralee Bay, Islands of Mull, Iona and Lismore, as well as the towns of Oban and Fort William. For our exact location please see the map under information.
Mildly grand, with welcoming and hospitable hosts, offering first class Bed and Breakfast accommodation in Oban.
