The Jersey Battle of Flowers is an annual carnival held in the second week of August. The festival consists of music, funfairs, dancers, majorettes and a parade of flower covered floats alongside various street entertainers. It was inaugurated in 1902 to celebrate the Coronation of Edward VII.
Should you be travelling to Jersey to see the Battle of Flowers for the first time you will soon find how easy it is to get here from all parts of the United Kingdom and Europe - by sea or air.
The Battle itsef orginally consisted of dismatling the floats to provide floral ammunition for a literal Battle of Flowers between participants and spectators, but this aspect has long been abandoned. Since 1989, a night time Moonlight Parade has been introduced. The Moonlight Event ends with a large firework display.
Come and join us for this wonderfull annual carnival in Jersey.
