Located in the unspoilt Newlands valley in the heart of the Lake District , Bawd Hall is beautifully set with great walks right out of the door. Inside, it is furnished to a very high standard and is very comfortable, even in the worst weather, with full central heating, double glazing and an open fire.
Bawd Hall is a short drive from Keswick with ample shopping and leisure facilities and nearby boating on Derwent Water. 10 minutes in the other direction takes you to the superb mountain and lake scenery of Buttermere.
If you just want to sit and relax at home, the garden room at Bawd Hall is ideal for observing wildlife. Red squirrels and stoats have been seen, together with a variety of birds.
The Lake District in the United Kingdom is best enjoyed on foot. There are a large numbe of excellent walks straight out of the house varying from a simple stroll to a strenuous hike. The area is excellent for cycling, either on the fells (where permitted), or along the quiet roads between Newlands, Derwent Water and Borrowdale.
If the seaside appeals, then the coast north of Maryport has a number of excellent sandy beaches and associated facilities. Generally the Lake District is generously provided with things to do and see, even if the weather is less than ideal.
