Welcome to the Belhaven Inn located in Belfast, Maine, United States. Built in 1851, the Belhaven Inn consists of 16 rooms: 4 Guest Rooms and Efficiency Guest Suite, 4 Common Rooms, Dining Room, Kitchen, owners quarters and 2 third floor bedrooms. As you enter the columned front porch and beautiful oak paneled entrance foyer with its mullioned windows, you begin to see what a wonderful family home this was back in the 1850's when the Caldwells built it.
From the hallway with its circular stairway and "lighthouse design" newel post you may enter the first of the common rooms. A cozy family room designed for comfort and ease.
Watch TV, play games, read or just sit in front of a crackling fire. Dessert teas are often served here in the evening.
A left turn from the hall leads into the reception room/office. This is where you will check-in. The room is filled with brochures, in- formation, guide books, games and books.
Through the French doors you will find the "Victorian Pink Parlor" with its original carved mantel and working fireplace. This lovely room saw many family functions such as marriages and engagements. Caldwell daughter Abbie used it to teach voice and music.
At the harbor downtown, the footbridge commands a panoramic view of the Penobscot Bay and breath-taking sunsets. Stroll along the waterfront walkway then rest in a charming gazebo.
