Hello everyone! Big Red's was established by two brothers and their wives (Rick/Colleen and Derrek/Joan Swinemar). Both brothers have red hair and Rick was called "Big Red" in school, where the Restaurant's name originated.
When we started, we had little business and cooking training, but with hard work, trial and error and great, supportive customers, we prospered.
Our first pizza came out of the oven oval, not round or square, and we received plenty of burns because we were trying to make our pizzas without pans. We decided to use pans instead. Each week, our products improved until we developed great tasting dishes and techniques for preparation.
We opened three stores in 18 months. Thanks to our loyal customers, our stores became very successful on the South Shore of beautiful Nova Scotia, Canada.
