With Edwardian decor, the Theatre has been described as a "little gem". It is a 99 seater auditorium, with a bar (Green Room) adjacent. Plans are currently in hand to provide disabled access and other improvements (booking office; conference facilities; separate patrons toilets etc.) are being addressed at the same time.
The Exmouth Players were founded by the late Jessie Blackmore in the 1928 and productions were mostly staged at the Exmouth Pavilion. Rehearsals were at the Royal Beacon Hotel and they met socially in a Nissen Hut in the grounds of the "Cranford Club."
