After a hard day skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, rafting, fishing or any of the outdoor pursuits we have on offer; there is nothing better than settling down on the verandah enjoying a cold beer with some friends and reflecting on the day's adventure.
Once you have recharged the mind, the body will need to be charged up so try our excellent food, either in the Cafe, outside on the verandah or just pull up a stool at the bar and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Our menu has some great Blue Pub grub available as well as a delicious a la carte menu for the more discerning diner. While trying Chef Gary's succulent delights, our friendly staff can advise you on a wine from our extensive wine list. We have a great balance of New Zealand white wines (the best in the world!) with some new Kiwi reds to help complement the fantastic Australian reds available. There is sure to be something for you...
The Blue Cafe is renowned in the Canterbury area as the place to go for both the discerning diner with a great a la carte menu, but also for the hungriest sportsman - if you're just coming off the mountain or back from the rivers and lakes, the Pub grub menu will hit the spot.
Chef Gary's famous blue burger or lamb shanks are a must, or if you rate your appetite, how about our 300gm steak with your choice of wicked sauces? The dynamic menu includes constantly changing specials and utilises local produce such as venison, lamb and salmon from the nearby Rakaia river (one of the best fishing destinations in the world by the way...)
