Five individually designed en-suite bedrooms, each with sleep-provoking king-sized beds, 26" flat-screen digital TV, hairdryers, i-pod docks, hospitality tray including home-made biscuits and a range of toiletries including organic soaps from Mother Earth of Grasmere ? everything you would expect from boutique accommodation in the Lake District.
A variety of toothsome cooked breakfasts, with locally sourced, free-range ingredients (including gluten-free Cumberland sausage) and vegetarian/special diet options. The Fry room is definitely worth climbing the stairs for, with something of the raffish feel appropriate to a room named for C.B. Fry, the legendary Edwardian cricketer and all-round renaissance man. A lofty, spacious room with windows facing south and east, and luxurious furnishings including a hand-carved French-style mahogany bed and venetian glass dressing table.
