Welcome to the Brookby Motel, Thames, Waikato, New Zealand. All units have a booklet which provides information about things to do, the history of Thames, the gold-mining past of the Brookby site, restaurants, shops and large shopping mall (which are only a 5 minute walk away), as well as information relating to the Coromandel Peninsula of which Thames is the main commercial town and serves as an excellent base from which to do all your touring around the region.
There are four one-bedroom units, which have recently been restyled with modern decor to the highest standards. Three units have king-size beds and the fourth one has twin single beds in the bedrooms. There is also a single bed in each lounge. An additional single bed is available which can also be set up in the lounge. The beds all have electric blankets. All units have well-equipped bathrooms and kitchens. Other facilities include: - LCD TV/DVD combos with Sky digital TV (13 channels comprising 5 Sky and 8 free to air), iron, ironing board and hairdryer. All these units open onto small deck where you can enjoy a drink whilst listening to the sound of the stream and the birds.
The two studio units have the same facilities as above with the exception of a kitchen. However there is a microwave oven and coffee/tea/toast making facilities. The smaller of the two studio units has a queen-size bed and although it is very small it is very comfortable.
Dial-up Internet access for your laptop is available from all units and fax facilities are available at reception. Normal phone rates apply. Laundry facilities are also available.
The Brookby Motel is a quality six-unit Motel with a nice welcoming feel about it ? the reason why so many guests prefer to return again and again. The most common remark is that the units are clean, quiet and well-appointed and they would definitely return again should the opportunity arise. Indeed, many of the guests are either those that have stayed before or who have been recommended by others that have stayed.
The general opinion is that the Brookby Motel is one of the best Motels in the Thames region - at least, that?s according to pages of favourable comments in the guest book.
