Welcome to C and C Family Jewelers, Folsom, California, United States. C and C Family Jewelers, Folsom, started life as Precious Gems, by Ken Cemo. Late in 1979 Ken Cemo was intrigued by the recent surge in gold and silver prices. Having been a coin and stamp collector by hobby, Ken opened a small space in his brother's antique store in the Historic old gold rush town of Folsom, California. Putting out a shingle advertising the purchasing of gold and silver, Ken was quite surprised at the volume of clients looking to sell not only coins and buillion, but Jewelry and silver tea sets and flatware sets. As gold was trading at its highest price in history, Ken was seeing quite a quantity of Jewelry. In much of these Jewelry pieces were diamonds and gemstones. Ken started to research the value and quality of these gems and eventually signed on for GIA's home study courses. At this time there were no local classes in the history of Jewelry, so Ken started buying books on antiques and talking to older jewelers. At this time a lot of vintage estate Jewelry was being torn apart melted for its metal value, but Ken could not bring himself to dismantle some of the ornate white gold and platinum Jewelry he was buying. Hence his Estate Jewelry business was born. As the business grew his wife Michele started to help in the business and eventually they took over the entire store and made it their own. In the early 1980's vintage Jewelry was not popular. Most of our customer's liked the platinum filigree brooch studded with carats of diamonds and sapphires, but wanted to find it in yellow gold. So Ken and Michelle added a bench jeweler to the staff and their New and Estate Jewelry business evolved. Today C and C Jewelers has a blend of new Jewelry, that is hand picked or designed in their store, vintage estate Jewelry , and contemporary estate Jewelry , which are second hand pieces that are made within the last 30 years. Every estate piece has been carefully inspected and any necessary restoration is performed by their capable and experienced jewelers.
