Can Costa history dates back to the end of the 20s, when, from the middle of May until the festivity of Saint Mary, Carmeta, la â??yayaâ? (â??grannyâ??) set up a wooden marquee under the name of â??Sportâ? to offer salt cod â??a la llaunaâ? and pickled sardines to the bathers in la Barcelona.

Eventually, it was named Can Costa â??el Deporteâ?, becoming the first masonry refreshment stall on this beach, and therefore gastronomic founder of this area, the so well known la Barceloneta, here and beyond our borders.
