Located in Castine Maine, few Inns along the Maine coast offer the unique setting and style of The Castine Inn. The Inn is located in Castine Maine, a peaceful, historic village situated on the tip of a peninsula overlooking Penobscot Bay, one of the world's loveliest cruising grounds. The village of Castine Maine remains one of the most beautiful towns in New England due in great part to its residents who have taken pride in preserving the historic nature of the village. Many of the 18th and 19th century Georgian and Federal style homes have been carefully restored, and the town has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Castine citizens have worked diligently to maintain the majestic stand of 85' tall, graceful elm trees that shade many of the village streets.
The historic Inn stands one block from the harbor on Main Street. Built in 1898, The Castine Inn is an elegant building surrounded by a wrap-around porch and beautiful, well maintained perennial gardens with views of the active harbor. Inside, guests are greeted in the spacious front hall with a lovely sitting room to the right and a cozy pub tucked in a hidden corner to the left. Just beyond, owner Amy Gutow graciously welcomes guests into the dining room where her husband Tom presents his unique and refined cuisine showcasing the natural bounty of the region.
