We invite you to experience a tailor-made culinary encounter at the Mount Nelson Hotel's Chef's Table in Gardens.
Located in the heart of the kitchen, you can enjoy out-of-the-ordinary fare whilst gaining a ?fish-bowl glimpse? into the previously secret domain of a professional kitchen.
Open for dinner, the Chef?s Table caters for a minimum of 6 people and a maximum of 10 people, a 4-course dinner, which includes sparkling wine and canapés on arrival in the Planet Champagne & Cocktail Bar, a chef's apron and personalised menus.
An evening with the chefs - The host of the evening will have the opportunity to meet with the Chef beforehand to discuss menu preferences, or alternatively may decide to give them free reign to do what they do best.
On arrival at the hotel, guests are welcomed with canapés and sparkling wine on the hotel?s terrace overlooking the magnificent expansive Gardens. Thereafter guests are escorted to the Chef?s Table, where they will begin an evening of pure culinary indulgence. A large leather-framed mirror behind the oak table reflects the activities in the kitchen, allowing guests a 'behind the scenes' look at the chefs at work.
Guests will be presented with a sumptuous 4-course gourmet extravaganza, and may, at an additional cost, pair each course perfectly with fine wine specially chosen by the hotel?s ?wine chef? from the extensive cellar, including our own Western Cape Wines.
One of the courses will be demonstrated and presented from an oak and granite moveable cooking hub, whilst candles flicker between glasses and the usual hubbub of the hotel?s kitchen assists in creating a perfectly authentic experience.
Our Chef's passion for fine food is bound to rub off after a Chef?s Table evening and our guests are often inspired to use their newly acquired culinary insight when creating gourmet delights in their own home!
