Although the early 20th century house clearly has links with the past - including the gorgeous, 50 year-old Mt Fuji cherry tree out front - there's little to prepare guests for the cutting-edge funkiness of the accommodation within.

Artist David had gone to town on colour and style in both existing rooms and the new garden spa apartment with its rich blends of fabrics matched with the deep hue of natural timbers.

Inside the main house are the dining room (where the famous Big Ranch breakfast is served) and two elegant guest rooms sharing a spacious downstairs lounge filled with light and colour.

Cherry Tree is near all Daylesford's shops and the mineral springs where Lyndall's great grandmother first bottled and distributed the local waters 100 years ago.

David & Lyndall have brought together the best of both worlds, old and new. All the things you have come to expect from a romantic retreat in the country: exposed timber floors, 100 year old Baltic pine staircase, and a romantic open fire place in the guest lounge combine with the more fanciful touches of an architect designed city warehouse.

Hand made Oregon beds share the same open plan bedroom space as the claw foot bath & shower. The use of stainless steel, timber bench tops, the Italian terracotta floors, and floor to ceiling wine racks made from concrete reinforcing mesh have made the kitchen a real talking point.

While we are fully hosted accommodation, guests have a separate entrance so your privacy is ensured.
