Welcome to The Cidery, Australia?s foremost boutique drinks producer, nestled away in the picturesque Bridgetown, southwest of Western Australia.
The Cidery proudly recognises the contribution of the early pioneer families to establishing a world renowned apple industry in Western Australia, centred at Bridgetown.
Many of these pioneers and their daily work is featured in the extensive historical photographic display at The Cidery along with the tools they used in producing "the best apples in the world".
The high quality Pink Ladys are used in the production of The Cidery's ciders and apple juice, to once again create "the unique taste of Bridgetown".
A handcrafted jarrah tasting bar and display dresser, comprises of a tasting area, dining area, "snug" bar, stage and entertainment room. A life-size mural dominates the museum area, which contains tools and memorabilia from the orcharding days. The internal areas offer an expansive view, through full-height glass windows and doors, of the shady veranda edged with ornamental vines, in turn leading onto the extensive landscaped gardens. Visitors can relax and enjoy The Cidery's drinks and food under the shade of the towering river gums in summer or snuggle up in front of the warm fire in Bridgetown's delightful winters.
The Ciders:
Apple Kiss receives no added sugar, water, additives or preservatives, but presents the unadulterated purity of freshly crushed Pink Lady apples - a natural health food in a bottle!
Scrumpy is made from premium quality Pink Lady apples. It is clean and fully dry aged cider with all the essential characteristics of a good scrumpy, complete with that classic acetic or "cider vinegar" bite on the back palate.
Soft Cider is truly reminiscent of this early stage of fermentation. It is a non alcoholic cider presenting the full ripe fruit juice characters of the Pink Lady apple with balanced natural acidity.
Sweet Rosie is a full fruit sweet cider exhibiting the clean sweetness of Pink Lady apples... and more.
Bottla Wines from The Cidery: ... offer a completely different Wine experience at every stage of interaction, from the first viewing of the bottle through to the final mouthful. As the label conveys, the bottles are fun but the Wine is serious! The grape varieties and the Wine also offer a different experience, presenting the little known Blackwood Valley Wine Region and perhaps Australia?s only dry style of the unique Taminga Grape.
The Wines reflect our belief at The Cidery, that drinks should be essentially about enjoyment and fun while offering quality and interest at an affordable price point.
The draught beers at The Cidery :
Bitters: Brewed in the Extra Special Bitter style, it possesses medium to strong hop qualities in its aromatics, flavour, and bitterness.
Stouts: Draught Blackwood Stout Porter is in this robust style, traditionally being more black in colour than the deep red associated with less fuller bodied Porters, with a dark and creamy, almost ?cappuccino?-like, head.
Local lager: Brewed in a style that presents with the structure of a Pilsner Lager, but with the ready ?drinkability? of Australasian lager.
Wheat Beers: This beer is brewed primarily in a Belgian ?Witbier? style, with 30 percent unmalted wheat and 70% malted barley, spiced with coriander and orange peel. and. The lack of filtering together with traditional chill haze presents a beer that is pale in colour, with the attractive opaque appearance so appreciated by true wheat beer lovers.
