Welcome to Communities in Schools of Hart County, Hartwell, United States. Communities in Schools was organized in 1998 to serve children, youth and families of Hart County. We are a member of the nation's largest dropout Prevention Organisation. In addition to providing services locally, we also have a Parent Information Resource Centre (PIRC) which provides services to thirteen counties in Northeast Georgia.
The mission of the Communities in Schools is to champion the connection of needed community resources with Schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in School and prepare for life.
By bringing caring adults into the Schools to address children’s unmet needs, Communities in Schools (CIS) provides the link between educators and the community. The result: teachers are free to teach, and students – many in jeopardy of dropping out – have the opportunity to focus on learning.
The goals of this Prevention Organisation in Hartwell are to ensure that every child has a one-on-one relationship with a caring adult, a safe place to learn and grow, a healthy start and a healthy future, a marketable skill to use upon graduation and a chance to give back to peers and community.
