Darwin House was built in the late 1970s to replace the old "big house". It is a modern farmhouse with 5 bedrooms available for guests, and a choice of twin, double or family rooms. Two of the family bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, each equipped with a modern spa bath. There is a large and very comfortable lounge with TV and video, a pleasant dining room and a cosy, well-stocked bar. A no-smoking policy is applied throughout the house.
In addition to the usual meals for residents, Darwin House is open to non-residents for meals booked in advance, and for light refreshment without the need for prior arrangement between 10am and noon, and between 2pm and 5pm daily except on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Although we normally offer a fixed price table dâ??hôte menu, we are always happy to discuss special menus for dinner or luncheon parties or special events. Whenever possible we use local organically produced meat, poultry, eggs, and fresh sea-food. With adequate notice, we can usually accommodate most dietary requirements.
