Discover Goat Island based in Leigh, in the Auckland region in New Zealand, runs guided Tours at Goat Island Marine Reserve for groups; both Snorkelling Tours and rocky shore Tours. Goat Island Marine Reserve (officially Cape Rodney to Okakari Point Marine Reserve) is on the coast at the small town of Leigh, approximately 90km north of Auckland, New Zealand.
The marine reserve offers excellent Snorkelling and diving with snapper, blue maomao, parore, red moki and eagle rays commonly seen close to the beach. The rock pools of Goat Island?s Echinoderm Reef are home to a huge variety of crabs, seashells, sea stars and other marine life that can be discovered at low tide. At low tide take a guided walk on one of Goat Island?s protected reefs. See the amazing rocky shore life from the high tidal splash zone with barnacles and limpets through the intertidal rock pools to the low tide zone with its crabs, sea stars and urchins.

Experienced Snorkelling instructors will demonstrate and explain the use of all Snorkelling equipment. Marine Reserve information and marine life will be covered along with a comprehensive safety briefing. Risk Management and Safety Plans provided.
Guided snorkel Tours take from 30-60 minutes depending on water temperature, time available and students? abilities. Allow two hours which includes gearing up, introductory talk and snorkel.
