The Downeast Rover is a 55' topsail schooner designed by Merritt Walter and built to ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) rules. Her hull is welded steel, her spars are aluminum and her sails are tanbark Dacron. Built in 1984 by Shon Walter of Rover Marine Yachts in Norfolk VA, The Downeast Rover is US Coast Guard inspected and certified for 29 passengers.
