The Drake Bay Night Tour offered by the Aguila de Osa Inn on Drake Bay in the Puntarenas region of Costa Rica and lead by resident naturalist guides.
The Drake Bay Night Tour awakens you to a world you might never have known existed in the Puntarenas rain forests and jungle of Costa Rica.
Many rainforest inhabitants are nocturnal, making the rainforest an exciting and magical place to visit after dark. Equipped with lightweight, compact, state of the art ITT night vision optics, in conjunction with infra-red laser beams, you?ll be able to see an examine life that is normally hidden to the human eye. Throughout the tour Tracy will reveal interesting and informative aspects of cultural entomology - the impact of insects on our lives, and of us on theirs. Moths, iguanas, frogs, and spiders are common sightings, with snakes, ocelots and other species of animal life present but less frequently observed.
The tour departs shortly after dinner and lasts approximately 2 - 2.5 hours. You'll begin a gradual climb up into the thick surrounding jungle through a maze of well maintained trails on our private property. Flash lights are provided, and will serve as your primary light source when walking through the rainforest. Hiking boots are highly recommended.
