Welcome to Education Programs at Sonoma County Museum, Santa Rosa, California, United States. The Museum & Schools Program at Education Programs at Sonoma County Museum, Santa Rosa, California, engages K-12 educators and schoolchildren with the educational, civic, cultural, and social experience found at the Museum, which effectively expand the student's appreciation and understanding of the culture and society in which they live while creating a broader connection to the academic subjects they are pursuing. The program is endorsed by the Sonoma County Office of Education and is intended to assist teachers with arts/history/science education at the Museum and in the classroom. The Museum provides free tours, bus funds and free education materials including hands-on activities for the classroom.
Tours are FREE for school groups when booked 2 weeks in advance. Docent or staff led tours are approximately 45 minutes and include exhibitions in all 4 of the Museum's galleries. Tours are given from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Friday and are tailored to the needs and ages of the students.
