Edwin C. Ahlberg Antiques in Guilford, situated in the historic Edwin Leete House built in 1864, is a family business that been running for a century and spans four generations. Originally opened in 1906 by Axel F. Ahlberg after he moved to the United States from Sweden, the business was passed on to his four sons in the 1920's. In 1928 his oldest son, Edwin, opened his own antique store and was joined by his sons in the 1940's and finally his grandson Edwin III in the 1980's.
The business has recently moved from New Haven to it's new premises in Guilford. Edwin C. Ahlberg Antiques specialises in formal American and high style country furniture, as well as appropriate accessories.
Over the past century Edwin C. Ahlberg Antiques have worked with museums, veteran collectors and beginners to help them acquire items for their collections.
