El Museo del Mar y de la Sal de Torrevieja, was inaugurated on February 4, 1995 by D.Pedro Hernández Mateo, alcalde de la ciudad. Pedro Hernandez Mateo, mayor of the city.. It was created with the concern that not falling into oblivion the roots of what is now our town. El Museo del Mar y de la Sal de Torrevieja is essentially ethnological. It is intended to reflect the impression that the sea has left its people over time, highlighting the birth of Torrevieja by the sea and the salt and sea and the salt.
