At Elder Grove you will find a friendly family run Bed & Breakfast in our Victorian house situated on the edge of Ambleside, being a couple of minutes walk to Ambleside's wonderful mix of restaurants, cafés and shops and only a 10 minute walk to the head of Lake Windermere in the United Kingdom.

Elder Grove has 10 bedrooms all individually decorated and offering you home from home comfort. All the rooms are en-suite with bath and shower and have have television and radio, hot drinks tray, and hairdryers.

Start your day with breakfast in Elder Grove's Lakeland greenstone dining room, with a choice of cereals, fruits, yogurts and juices, from our buffet table. We then offer a choice of freshly prepared breakfasts cooked from locally sourced produce,  Cumbrian breakfast with Sausage from Ambleside's local butcher, or fresh Manx kippers for something a little different.

Complete your breakfast with a chunk of Paul's home made bread topped with our homemade marmalade or choice of home made jams.

Elder Grove has a comfortable bar/lounge area where you can find local beers, wines and a good selection of soft drinks and spirits. We also serve complimentary tea and coffee through the day, and we always have available home made cakes.

The bar also has a computer for guests use (or link into our wireless network).

There are lots of local guide books, walk books and maps for you to borrow, and the local and national daily papers.

We have a quiet lounge with TV, DVD & Play Station, also books and puzzles.

Elder Grove has car parking, bike storage and a drying room.
