The English Inn is a stunning Italianate-style Victorian built in 1885 by Henry Bash. Conveniently located just a few blocks from the Uptown Historic District of Port Townsend, Washington, the grand house sits on large private grounds surrounded by beautiful gardens with holly trees that Henry planted himself. Set far back from the street, it is quiet and peaceful. We are within a minute or two of every great thing Port Townsend, Washington, United States, has to offer!
As you walk down the path, enjoy a wonderful view toward the west with the Olympic Mountains and stunning sunsets. As soon as you walk in the front door at The English Inn you are greeted by the warmth and welcoming atmosphere which will surround your stay with us.
As you enter the front door with leaded glass design you are greeted by a long impressive grand staircase. The Parlor to the right of the entry is a large inviting room with 14 foot ceilings and fireplace. The magnificent wallpaper border is original and accented by stunning green walls, gorgeous fireplace mantle and beautiful antiques. Enjoy relaxing by the fire with an afternoon cup of tea, or a nice glass of wine with friends in the evening. The large bay window with window seat overlooks the beautiful garden and the Olympic Mountains and is a great spot to enjoy a good book.
The formal dining room off the Parlor is spacious and elegantly decorated. Breakfast is served each morning at 9:00, with fine linens and antique china. The English Inn serves a full delectable breakfast complete with juices, fresh fruits, and hot entrees. We try to share fresh local organic food, and we don't over indulge in breads or muffins. Share an intimate meal with your sweetie, or a great laugh and conversation with new friends.
The garden at The English Inn contains a gazebo where you can sit and enjoy a lovely view & glass of wine. The gardens are constantly changing with the seasons; we are extremely environmentally conscious and go with the Port Townsend, Washington, late summer brown and not waste water.
