Pei, the building itself is internationally acclaimed for its uniqueness. Within its walls, Everson Museum of Art houses roughly 11,000 pieces of art, American paintings, sculpture, drawings, graphics and one of the largest holdings of American ceramics in the nation.
The mission of the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, New York, is to preserve, exhibit, interpret, and enhance its collection of historical and contemporary American visual arts and its international ceramic collection. The Museum seeks to inspire, educate and enrich all people and integrate art into their lives through direct encounters with its own collections and temporary exhibitions.
From toddlers to adults, the Everson Museum of Art gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy, learn and connect with art through a variety of free docent-led tours.
The Everson Museum of Art features the works of American artists from the 18th century to the present, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and video. In addition, the Syracuse China Center for the Study of Ceramics provides open-storage galleries for the Everson?s world-renown ceramic collection.
