In 1999 Greg Lueck and Rebecca Seymour renovated the turn of the century Vancouver National Bank Building to showcase Firehouse Glass, the Northwest's Premier Glass Working Center in Vancouver Washington in the United States. Firehouse Glass provides community exposure to Glass art as well as a collaborative forum for artists working in the Glass medium. Firehouse Glass provides world-class equipment and facilities with a vision of community, education and collaboration in the Glass arts. Private lessons as well as studio rentals are available in Glass blowing, Glass fusing and slumping, kiln forming, cold working, sand blasting, and torch working.
Every Friday night from 6-10 there is a public Glass blowing demonstration in the Firehouse Glass hot shop which is a wonderful opportunity to meet the artists and mingle with the local and regional Glass working community. Our world class gallery space in Vancouver Washington , is used for exhibiting and selling artwork by artists of all levels from students to professionals.
Firehouse Glass has the highest caliber instructors who offer private lessons seven days a week for groups or individuals, from beginner through advanced skill levels in each of the following studios, hot shop, cold shop, warm shop and torch working/bead making studio. The real beauty of private lessons is the ability to customize the student's education at a comfortable pace for each individual.
Firehouse Glass artists specialize in making custom Glass pieces and in doing large scale commission work for designers, architects, and private clients. We offer high quality work at competitive rates. No job is too large or too small.
Firehouse Glass also repairs broken Glassware when possible. When a piece of Glass is broken beyond repair we can often replicate the form and color to replace the irreparable item. Sometimes replication is the only option when sentimentally valuable work is damaged.
