Forest Dale Golf Course was originally built in 1905 as the Salt Lake Country Club in Salt Lake City, United States, and holds the distinction of being the oldest Golf course in Utah. Forest Dale Golf Course has undergone several phases of renovation since the city acquired the course in 1935.
Today Forest Dale Golf Course is a challenging course with several small, original table-top greens that place a premium on accuracy. A major redesign in 1986-87 maintained the tradition while transforming the course into a contemporary test of Golf. The nine-hole layout features three par-3's, three par-4's and three par-5's, with a large lake coming into play on the closing three holes. The par-4, 449-yard 9th is renowned as one of the most challenging finishing holes in Utah.
Forest Dale Golf Course clubhouse remains a landmark in Salt Lake City and has been placed on the Utah Historical Register. The clubhouse was completely renovated and restored in 1994-95, preserving the mission-style architecture of prominent Utahn Frederick Albert Hale. The renovated clubhouse facility now serves as the home of Salt Lake City's Golf Division offices and includes a large public meeting room with the original Forest Dale fireplace.
