Back in 1976, Bob Mann, Wendy's husband, accepted a Cessna 182 aircraft as a trade-in on two new tractors, at their machinery dealership Mullewa Auto Electrics, in Mullewa, a town some 90 kilometres from their current base in Geraldton.
Wendy's flying career grew from that event. The business sold farm machinery all over WA; they realised that an aircraft would come in handy, so Bob sent Wendy off to Geraldton to learn to fly.
