The Friends of the Library meet the second Wednesday of every month from 6:00-7:30 PM at the Library.
In short, we support the Library. Through member fees and donations, used book sales and special events, the Friends organization raises funds to enrich the Library's collections, infrastructure, and activities.
If you too would like to support the Gilford Public Library, then join the Friends. By becoming a member, you'll join over 250 current individual and family members who share your love of the Library. The Friends of the Gilford Public Library is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to the promotion of the Library. In addition to focusing on community awareness and fundraising efforts for the programs, we also support services and special needs of the Gilford Public Library.
We accept donations of hardcover and paperback books, books on tape, videos and DVDs. All items should be in good, saleable condition. Please call before dropping off large quantities of books since space is sometimes an issue.
Book sales are held throughout the year at the Library. Old Home Day is our largest event and our seasonal Open Houses are also highly attended. In addition, we have a relationship with Amazon and Abe Books for the higher value books, generating additional revenue for the Friends.
